Project Description

As part of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Innovation Technology Discovery Project, we conducted a 'Last-Mile Delivery Living Lab(2021~2022)'. This Living Lab addressed urban challenges in the Incheon Economic Free Zone (IFEZ), characterized by numerous high-rise buildings, using robotics.

Last mile Delivery Living Lab is leading the Living Lab sector contributing to the last distance just before the ordered item leaves the shipping destination and delivering directly to the customer

LastMile Delivery Robot is a door to door robot service that delivers ordered items to the door. Collaborating with BEARROBOTICS, developing a LastMile delivery robotics platform to launch and commercialize the autonomous robot delivery services.

It played a bridging role to reduce the gap between technology with entry barriers and people. We carried out robot demonstrations in three different areas (Playing, Working, Living area) to identify areas for improvement in robot services based on the characteristics of each space.

The Living Lab project had the following objectives for each season:

- Season 1, the goal was to check the indoor robot delivery function and human-robot interaction (HRI) and derive improvements.

- Season 2 focused on the demonstration of the delivery process where the delivery driver and robot are connected organically.

- Season 3 aimed to check the delivery processes connecting multiple points in a multi-space and derive improvements.

Living-Lab Platform

It played a bridging role to reduce the gap between technology with entry barriers and people. We carried out robot demonstrations in three different areas (Playing, Working, Living area) to identify areas for improvement in robot services based on the characteristics of each space.

  • A Living Lab map in a dashboard format for sharing information.
  • Visualization of the proof-of-concept services for the respective Living Labs, including a word cloud representing the key service keywords.
  • Providing season-specific operational KPI information for sharing progress results.
  • Visualizing the locations of service demonstration targets for each season on a map.

Analyzing citizen opinions and visualizing key keywords in word cloud format. Analyzing citizen opinions at each stage of the service scenario and visualizing them in word cloud format. Conducting sentiment analysis on citizen-authored diaries to determine the positive/negative ratio and visualizing the factors causing these emotions. Creating graphs to track the emotional trends of citizens at each stage of the scenario.
